Climbing the giants of the Tour de France?

27 May 2025

It's on the Route des Grandes Alpes® (and a detour via the Ventoux on the P'tites Routes du Soleil®)!

The 18th and 19th stages of the Tour de France 2025 will be an ode to the high mountains, with a concentration of the legendary passes for which the Route des Grandes Alpes® is famous. And not to be left out, the Ventoux, accessible via the P'tites Routes du Soleil®, has also invited itself to the party. A reminder that the greatest climbs in French cycling can be found... on our routes!

All the great climbs are on our roads

From Mont Ventoux to the col de la Loze, via the Glandon, the Madeleine, the col des Saisies, the col du Pré, the Cormet de Roselend or the Joux-Plane, the Alpine stages of the Tour 2025 take in mythical passes that cyclists can also tackle, on their own or with a guide. Route des Grandes Alpes® traces the red thread, while P'tites Routes du Soleil® offer a more southerly alternative... with a majestic detour possible all the way to Mont Ventoux!

Two decisive stages on the Route des Grandes Alpes®

On July 24, between Vif and Courchevel (5,500 m D+), the peloton will face the Glandon, the Madeleine and the Col de la Loze in particular: a Dantesque day. On July 25, between Albertville and La Plagne (4,500 m D+), it's time for the Beaufortain passes: Col des Saisies and Col du Pré, Cormet de Roselend... The stuff of legends!
