On the route of the Tour de France, the Les Saisies resort gives you easy (and fast) access to mythical climbs like the Col des Saisies of course, the climb up to Les Saisies via Bisanne, but also the Col du Joly, the Cormet de Roselend, the col des Aravis, the Col des Cyclotouristes or even the Côte de Domancy . Varied itineraries for all levels, from panoramic roads to wild valleys and steady slopes. Enough to satisfy both seasoned climbers and fans of great cycling outings!

Cycling in Les Saisies

Located on a pass at 1650m altitude between Beaufortain and Val d'Arly, Les Saisies is the ideal base camp for your Savoyard adventures, with 600km of possible routes, including 300km labeled by the FFC (cyclosport area). Road bikes (including electric-assist) are available for hire at the resort, and you'll also find stores to maintain or repair your 2-wheeler, as well as an MCF school offering training courses or cyclo discovery outings.

The Col des Saisies is regularly the scene of the greatest confrontations on the Tour de France or the Tour stage. It is also home to the Tour du Mont Blanc Cyclo. A mythical endurance loop over famous mountain passes through France, Switzerland and Italy. 330km and 8300m d+ to be ridden on your own or in a team of 2 over the course of a day to achieve a real sporting feat.

Highlight of cycling and cyclo tourism the Col des Saisies has a gentle relief ideal for all mountain activities and in particular mountain biking and gravel. Summer in Les Saisies

Summer in Les Saisies, a playground for the whole family! Over 30 sports and leisure activities: hiking for all levels, trail riding, mountain biking in all its forms (BikePark, enduro, cross-country, gravel, pumptracks), horseback riding, Mountain Twister, adventure course, elf village and forest, paragliding, yoga, fishing, archery, electric scooter, disc golf...

Three chairlifts open daily for pedestrians and mountain bikers, free shuttles to the Arlysère territory and electric link to the Col de la Lézette.

Le Signal is a complete center with swimming pool, wellness, fitness, squash, bowling, games room... Leisure pass available to enjoy a wide choice of activities at reduced rates.

Culture and heritage: Tourbières nature reserve, eco-museum, farms, dams, Baroque chapels, fairy tale house...

And all summer long, entertainment, concerts, workshops and events punctuate the resort for young and old.

Coming back in winter

At Les Saisies, winter rhymes with variety and wide open spaces. At Espace Diamant, winter sports enthusiasts can take advantage of 192 km of downhill ski runs, while Nordic enthusiasts can enjoy 120 km of cross-country ski trails and a biathlon area. The resort also offers 20 km of footpaths, 45 km of snowshoe trails and many original activities: yoga, mountain twister (tobogganing on rails), luge'n troll (2 km downhill), snowmobile or moonbike outings, fondue evenings in igloos, groomer rides or introductory driving courses, ski joëring, pony sledging, electric fatbikes, paragliding, first flights in microlight helicopters... Not forgetting the e-park, an electric snowmobile circuit for children and teenagers. Throughout the season, the resort comes alive with festive and sporting events in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

Nested between Mont Blanc, Beaufortain and Aravis, Les Saisies offers a preserved natural setting with grandiose landscapes. An authentic resort, home to champions such as Franck Piccard, Julia Simon and Justine Braisaz-Bouchet.

The resort has two reception offices, one in Les Saisies and the other in Hauteluce, located at the Écomusée. In terms of services, you'll find three mini-markets in Les Saisies, one in Hauteluce and one in Bisanne 1500. The accommodation offer is varied and suited to all needs: tourist residences, chalets, apartments, from the simplest to the most upmarket.

This Route des Grandes Alpes® stage between Le Grand-Bornand and Beaufort-sur-Doron passes via La Clusaz, Val d’Arly’s four mountain resorts and that of Les Saisies, plus the village of Hauteluce. You cross between the counties of Haute-Savoie and Savoie. Expect breathtaking views of Mont Blanc, typical mountain villages, plus, in summer, Alpine meadows in flower, ingredients for an unforgettable day’s cycling. It’s made all the better for having two passes to conquer: the Col des Aravis, part of the border between Savoie and Haute Savoie, and the Col des Saisies, gateway to the Beaufortain Range.
NB: Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, a village equidistant between Le Grand-Bornand and La Clusaz, is the starting point for an alternative section, involving two stages, taking you via Annecy Lake.

This gravel bike cycling stage sticks close to the classic Route des Grandes Alpes®, but proves almost wholly original, as you’ll rarely use that well-trodden route itself! Heading out from Flumet and through Notre-Dame de-Bellecombe, enjoy the exceptional natural landscapes of the regional nature reserve of La Tourbière des Saisies – Beaufortain – Val d’Arly, which you’ll climb through, heading up to the ski resort of Les Saisies. Next, plunge into the heart of the Beaufortain area to reach Arêches via the exquisite villages of Hauteluce and Beaufort. From Beaufort, or from Arêches (going via the Col du Pré), those of you intent on ticking off as many high mountain passes as possible can branch off from our proposed route to climb the famed Cormet de Roselend (at an altitude of 1,968m), guarding the way to the valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the mighty Tarentaise Valley.
