Autumn meeting with Mario, on the slopes of the Izoard, Queyras side.
Who is Super Mario?
A man from Barcelona, who set off from Figueras in northern Catalonia. He crossed the Franco-Spanish border at La Jonquera, before heading down to Argelès, skirting the coast for a while, then reaching the Gard, at Saint Gilles. A hop, skip and a jump down the Rhône valley, and he's in Sisteron on the P'tites Routes du Soleil. Quick, quick, to Serre Ponçon, then the Queyras and... the Izoard via Arvieux, on the Route des Grandes Alpes®. This is where we met him, on a very wet day, and accompanied him all the way down to Briançon.
