Giampiero, chi va piano va sano e va lontano

They-they crossed the Alps and they-they tell...

Would you like to introduce yourself?

Giamperro, I'm a "slow" cyclotourist, what I enjoy most is cycling long distances over several days, pedaling at my own pace, taking time to discover landscapes, villages...

What motivated you to embark on an itinerant bike trip in the Alps?

It was the longest trip of my life, a personal challenge I wanted to take on. The Alps are a spectacular setting, and the idea of crossing these mountains and experiencing adventure at my own pace fascinated me.

Which route did you take and why?

I chose Route des Grandes Alpes® for the beauty of the mountains and villages you cross, but also for the welcome you receive as a cyclist. On these roads, cyclists are respected and appreciated. That makes a real difference!

Ane anecdote to share?

What stood out for me was the beauty of the roads where the carriageway narrows for cars, but the cycle path remains as wide as ever. It's a real pleasure to see that cyclists are taken into account here. Details like that make all the difference when you spend many hours on the road.
