Gianluca and Juliette on P'tites Routes du Soleil® (Little Routes of the Sun®)
They-they crossed the Alps and they-they tell...
Would you like to introduce yourself?
My name is Gianluca, I'm 54 years old, and I'm a janitor. Road biking has been my passion for many years, and I particularly enjoy exploring the mountains. I shared this new cycling challenge with my girlfriend Juliette.
What motivated you to embark on an itinerant cycling trip in the Alps?
Alpine landscapes have always fascinated us. We'd already covered part of the Route des Grandes Alpes® in previous years (Nice/Briançon and the year after Briançon/Thonon-les-Bains), and this time we wanted to explore the Pre-Alps.
Which route did you take and why?
This year, we chose the P'tites Routes du Soleil®, a magnificent route! Less traffic, more serenity, and still just as many climbs... The route was completed in 5 days.
Your trifecta of passes?
Hard to say, because as climbers, we all love passes! Each climb was top-notch, and has its own charms.
A little anecdote to share?
Crossing the Drôme was striking, with its landscapes steeped in history. This area is steeped in memory, particularly of the Second World War. It was both moving and impressive.
