This will be the only really notable climb of this stage. From Savines-le-Lac on the shores of Lac de Serre-Ponçon, it won't be too difficult apart from a good stretch of around 1.6km on a gradient of between 6 and 7%. Two distractions are within wheel's reach: the Demoiselles Coiffées at the halfway point, and a belvedere at Sauze-du-Lac offering a splendid panorama of Lac de Serre-Ponçon and its dam.

It's a little tricky, with a gradient of between 6 and 7%, but two hairpin bends will help you on your way. A lookout point at Sauze-du-Lac gives you a splendid panoramic view of Lac de Serre-Ponçon and its dam.
