Pauline Ferrand-Prévot's masterclass at Col de la Madeleine!

3 August 2025

On Saturday August 2, 2025, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot put on a real show on the south side of the Col de la Madeleine by Montgellafrey, one of the giants of Route des Grandes Alpes®. On the offensive 8 km from the summit, she tamed the 19 km or so at an average gradient of 8% with striking authority. The result: a solo victory, 1'45'' ahead of Sarah Gigante, and as a bonus the Maillot Jaune conquered on the eve of the finish in Châtel.

This itinerary, a variant of the direct route, multiplies tight switchbacks and sustained slopes, with no real respite - apart from the crossing of Saint-François-Longchamp - up to the mythical altitude of 2,000 m. This is the Madeleine that Pauline has captured with panache!
