The Route des Grandes Alpes® is an extraordinary sporting and human adventure.

Basil Rogue, 23, a member of the U23 category at Chambéry Cyclisme Compétition, signed up for an extraordinary performance on September 7 and 8, 2025: crossing the Alps from Thonon-les-Bains to Nice along the historic route (via the Col des Gets).

In figures, this gives:

• 712 kilometers,
• 17,500 meters of positive ascent,
• 35 h 46 min including 31 h 42 min spent on the bike,
• 19,700 kcal consumed (Garmin/Strava estimate).

All completed with assistance, in generally favorable weather conditions and no rain.

ESF instructor in Manigod during the winter, Basil transposes his passion for the mountains to the summer through challenges of rare intensity. This one will go down as an unheard-of sporting feat, worthy of his commitment.
