Annecy: from the great passes to the Table de l'Impérial
A destination for good riding... and good eating
Annecy attracts cyclists not only for its passes and scenery, but also for its cuisine. Between lake and mountains, the town has established itself as one of the liveliest gastronomic territories in the Alps... and far beyond! Here, chefs rely on remarkable local produce: lake fish such as Arctic char or féra, Savoy cheeses, seasonal vegetables and herbs picked at altitude.

But the Annécian scene doesn't stop at tradition. It's wide open to influences from around the world, blending contemporary techniques with inspirations from elsewhere. This constant dialogue results in dishes that are contemporary, well-balanced and rooted in their territory without being rigid. In the wake of figures such as Marc Veyrat, a new generation of chefs, including Laurent Petit and Yohann Conte, has helped make Annecy one of the world's leading culinary centers. By 2026, eight restaurants around the lake will have a total of fourteen Michelin stars.
A lively cuisine, between lake and mountain
The local culinary identity is based on a direct link with nature. Our chefs work with the seasons, exploring the region's resources, playing with herbs, flowers and textures. The lake brings finesse and freshness, the mountains give relief and character.
Another strong point: the cellars. Annecy stands out for its particularly meticulous wine lists. You'll find great names as well as more confidential estates, with real attention paid to pairing. The wine accompanies, highlights and extends the dish, without ever taking over.
La Table de l'Impérial: a lakefront must-see
On the lakefront, La Table de l'Impérial, within the Impérial Palace, embodies a certain idea of culinary elegance in Annecy. The Belle Époque silhouette of the palace, known far beyond the Alps, creates a unique setting. At the table, the cuisine focuses on clarity and taste. Seasonal products are brought to the fore, cooking is mastered, and combinations remain legible.
The experience is not limited to the plate: large bay windows, a terrace overlooking the lake, changing light... the setting is part of the moment. The cellar is a perfect accompaniment, offering a selection designed to enrich each dish without masking it.

Refined cuisine, rooted in the land
Passed the passes, descent into pleasure!
In the territory supported by In Annecy Mountains, cyclists come for the passes. Le Semnoz, la Forclaz, la Colombière, le col des Aravis... set the pace and put the legs to the test.
But once the effort is over, Annecy offers another reward. Many bicycle travelers, often international, seek this balance between performance and pleasure. Linking up the great Alpine passes, then settling down at a fine table, extending the day in a different way.
On the Route des Grandes Alpes®, some stages count double. Annecy is one of them. Because here, the fun continues long after the descent.
