Our grands cols
The itineraries starting from Morzine are numerous and varied, hilly or high mountain. The destination is surrounded by numerous passes within a 30 to 40 kilometer radius: the famous cols de Joux Plane and the Avoriaz climb, climbed many times by Tour de France riders, the Joux Verte, the Corbier, the Grand Taillet, the Encrenaz, the Ramaz, the Pas de Morgins and the Col de Bassachaux in the nearby Vallée d'Abondance, the Col de Pierre Carrée....
The passes of the Vallée Verte are also within pedaling distance, as are those of the Aravis a little further afield (Colombière, Romme, Mont Saxonnex, Solaison, Aravis, Croix Fry).
A total of 25 passes within 50 kilometers of the village center! All these passes are specifically marked for cyclists. 
Events around cycling
Morzine-Avoriaz has been a traditional cycling destination for over 40 years, thanks to its hosting of numerous cycling events: Tour de France stage town 21 times since 1975, Critérium du Dauphiné, Tour de l'Avenir...
The village is also committed to developing popular cycling, with the organization each summer of the traditional Morzine-Avoriaz cycle climb. The Morzine-Haut Chablais cyclosportive attracts up to 800 registrants every year.
The "Adopt 1 Col" operation also allows cyclists to climb the col de Joux Plane during a morning, on a road totally closed to car traffic.
New for summer 2024: "Every day 1 Col" bike week, for 1 week from July 21 to 28 a valley pass will be closed to car traffic and reserved for bikes. To kick off the operation, honor the col de Joux Plane on July 21. This will be followed by the Col de la Joux Verte, the Col du Corbier, Grand Taillet, the Col de l'Encrenaz, the Mont Chéry climb, the Graydon climb, finishing with the Col de la Ramaz on July 28.
